Re-opening Guidelines for St Charles

We are pleased to announce we areopen for Sunday Masses and  we are going to need to follow many specific guidelines for safety and prudence. Please view this clip for Re-opening our churches for Mass and  view the diocesan guidelines hereEveryone has a role to play in our Masses. There will be arrows and instructional posters to facilitate the process and many volunteers.

Although the faithful have received a dispensation from the obligation to attend Holy Mass  and this is still in effect in our Diocese,  we invite those who are prepared to return to do so as long as no chronic illness would hinder them or make them susceptible to COVID- 19 should there be accidental exposure.

**Our Mass times have changed and the location will be the upper church unless otherwise specified as follows:

Satutday at 4:00pm  & Sunday english at 10:00am,  portuguese 10:00am in the lower church, spanish 12:00pm in the lower church , as long as there are the required number of volunteers for each Mass  is met: 16 volunteers per Mass to facilitate the safe re-opening are needed.

Currently we are not prepared with enough volunteers under the age of 60 to begin Sunday 8:00am. We are waiting for volunteers.....the 16 needed was not met for those Masses, so we cannot restart them . Please help.

Signups are not necessary and the favor of please bringing your own hand sanitizer and your facial covering/mask to assist our effort is much appreciated.

No Mask- no Mass. We will seat you accordingly for safety if you have a respiratory condition that prevents you from wearing a mask, but for the consideration of others, please put your mask on before you exit your car.

One entrance: The Summer Street handicap entrance door will be the only entrance  to Mass. A clicker count will be tallied per our requirement of limiting to 40 % of capacity at safety spacing.

Exits-  All will be leaving through the handicapped ramp or the Summer Street doors. Ushers will direct you. Escorts will dismiss the faithful by row.

Baskets will be available at the entrance for collection of the offertory. Thank you !

No processions, and no singing ! So sad :( but necessary) even with masks on.

Holy Communion- ushers to facilitate the people towards sanitizing stations and to communion lines and will point you accordingly.Communicants will receive the sacred Host in their hands, step to the side, remove their face covering, consume the host, and put your face covering back on.

No congregating or praying in the churches after Mass is over. This is necessary to clean and prepare for the next Mass. This is so 'anti" community and seems gruff,  but at this first stage, we must use prudent judgement to keep the social distancing as requested.

We look forward to your return ! Please consider volunteering.
